Take Your Next Step

to Optimal Health

Recommended Detox Kit: NutriClear® Plus

Detoxification is a complex term. The easiest way to detoxify your body is to stop putting in the Standard American Diet. This Diet plan is full of additives, preservatives and metabolic products that every cell in your body has to deal with.

To undergo detoxification means easing off the metabolic pathways of the liver, kidneys, and other precious organs that allow for purification of your blood. When your detoxifying organs work at their optimal, incoming and endogenous toxins are processed for elimination. However, when this system is compromised, impurities aren’t properly filtered and every cell in the body is adversely affected.

A detox program can help the body’s natural cleaning process by:

  1. Giving the organs a rest through short intermittent fasting. Please be ready before you take this step.
  2. Eliminating toxic waste products you put in your body. This includes sugars, grains, breads, sodas and the list goes on.
  3. Use specific health care guided nutrients that aid the kidney and liver to drive toxins from the body.
  4. Promoting elimination through the intestines, kidneys and skin. Learning the technique of skin brushing and rebounding can be very helpful.
  5. Improving circulation of the blood through appropriate movement.
  6. Refueling the body with healthy nutrients. Change your diet to a lifestyle that you can live with.

Detoxification works because it addresses the needs of individual cells, the smallest units of human life. Our bodies are made up of millions and trillions of cells. We never even think about the fact that they have special needs.

How do you know if you need to detox?

Dr. Mark and I detox at least once a year and most often twice. We even involve their family members and staff and all patients that want to participate. A short detoxifying program or whole body cleanse is generally safe; in fact, scientific studies show that a detox is beneficial for health. But, keep in mind that detoxifying is not for nursing mothers, children, and patients with chronic degenerative diseases, cancer.

Getting Started with Detoxification

First, eliminate what goes in to increase what goes out.

Lighten up your incoming toxic load. This eases up all of your organs and improves their elimination. Eliminate refined sugars and saturated fats, alcohol, coffee, cigarettes, all of which act as toxins in the body and are obstacles to your healing process.

Understand that your skin is an absorption organ.

We forget that our skin is a detoxifying and absorption organ. If we eliminate all of the hazards to the skin we improve our healthy outcome as well. This means to minimize use of chemical-based household cleaners and personal health care products (cleansers, shampoos, deodorants and toothpastes), and substitute things that are natural alternatives.

Eliminate stress.

Stress kills health, makes you tired and ages you quickly. The stress response triggers your body to release stress hormones into your system. While these hormones can provide the “adrenaline rush” to freeze, fight or get you into flight quickly, large amounts of these hormones they create toxins and slow down detoxification enzymes in the liver. It is hard on your adrenal glands and other metabolic organs.

Detox stressful life situations in your life (you might even get some good counseling) along with detoxifying your body. If you can’t get rid of them, let’s find ways to manage them.

We are dynamic human beings. We must pay attention to all parts of ourselves, physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual.
