The title of this article might seem a little complicated and unclear. However, the next few paragraphs will change your life forever.
Let’s begin by defining the functionality of a root. The first root that comes from a plant is called the radicle. Roots are directly responsible for supporting and feeding the plant. In response to the concentration of nutrients, roots also synthesize cytokinin, which acts as a signal as to how fast the shoots can grow. Cytokines, in the bodily sense, at many times act as inflammatory signals.
When a root becomes established in one’s life, and a radical begins to grow, this is a catalyst of inflammation, sickness, and disease. So what is the origination of this root? Let’s visit two sections of Biblical passages for the answer.
First in Genesis chapter 2, “The Lord God caused man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and closed up the place with flesh. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out a man, and he brought her to the man… The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.”
Here you see that both people were completely naked, unafraid, and shameless. How liberating and free it must have been. However, things would suddenly change.
Now let’s look at Genesis chapter 3, “Now the serpent was more crafty than any other wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, Did God really say, ‘you must not eat from any tree in the garden?’ The woman said to the serpent, ‘we may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, you must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die’…”
We know what happened next. Adam and Eve both took the fruit and ate. Their eyes were opened and they realized they were naked. Shame and fear took root in their lives. They ran and hid from God himself.
This is the first root that was the beginning of sin for all mankind. Interestingly, Satan used an object of food as the first object of temptation. It kind of makes you wonder, and now realize, how easy it is to fall for the deceptive trap of using food as comfort.
This original spiritual root, forming the original fear, is the beginning of a powerful root matrix that begins the disease process in our lives. Many conditions are directly tied to fear. When the fear goes away, so does the condition.
