Throughout my time of being involved in the fitness industry and in bodybuilding, I have routinely been asked the question, “Do you take steroids?” As many that have asked me that question, I am very certain there are many more who simply believe it.
Since my appearances have grown and so have those who want to bring criticism (this is part of the territory), let me unequivocally set the record straight. My response to it is two-fold:
- Thank you for the compliment!?!?!?
- The straight-forward answer is NO!!!!!!
It takes consistent hard work, not steroids.
I work very hard at what I do. I spend at least 6 hours per week training with weights and at least 6 hours per week doing aerobic activity of some sort. That is 12 hours per week. I HAVE BEEN DOING THIS FOR OVER 25 YEARS!
During this time, I could probably count on one hand the times I have taken a week off. I travel a lot, work hard, and rest hard, but I still find the time (because I choose) to exercise and continue my regimen. My consistency, dedication, and commitment must account for something. I am grateful to God that He put that character trait in me.
There is no ‘quick fix’ to build muscle.
Listen, I do my very best to encourage everyone in which I come into contact. I tell them there is no quick fix. You must work hard, smart, and consistently. Sadly, I see our world getting much lazier when it comes to hard work. We seem to expect things to happen without effort.
I have heard it said that everyone wants to have a healthy body, but only a few are willing to pay the price.
Be honest with yourself.
Don’t blame or justify your lack of commitment, dedication, and consistency on someone else. If you need help getting yourself going in the right direction when it comes to your internal and external health, let me be your source for encouragement. I will help you every step of the way.
That is why God gave the vision for this website. I want to provide motivation, information, and inspiration for you to be the BEST YOU CAN BE. Work hard, live right, and love with passion. If you follow those principles, you will find yourself encouraged and influential.
