1440 minutes – our total time allotment every day. How we ‘spend’ our time is indicative of our priorities.

Whether we spend or invest our time derives our level of return. If we spend our minutes wisely, we attain a great return and vice versa.

Following is one tip regarding one minute that will change your life immensely.

Spend at least one minute every day in total silence.

This will require some work, but I guarantee you the payout is enormous. Silence is something we seriously lack in this crazy, hellish-paced world.

In preparation of your silent minute, you must eliminate all noise except natural noise (wind, air, rain, etc.). This means getting away from the cell phones, computers, music, TV, and people.

Once in your quiet place (whether outside or inside), you may either use a stop watch or wrist watch to time your silent minute. Just relax, take a deep breath, and let the silence begin.

During the silence, you may experience a bit of anxiety at first, but trust me, it will quickly pass as the sweet moment of peace from chaos will envelope you.

I practice this routinely and have realized that the more I do it, the more I crave it. Yes, I said CRAVE IT. We were designed for rest (even as God did and directed). However, we must re-learn this gift of silence.
